예술 작품은 작가가 만들어 낸 생산물이지만 한 시대의 삶을 관통해 작가에게 주어진 것이기도 하다. 작품과 전시는 예술가 개인이 도달한 미적 성과일 뿐 아니라 시대 안에서 특정 집단 혹은 공동체가 나누는 인식의 지평을 보여준다. ‘IMA Picks’는 이러한 생각 아래 일민미술관이 주목하는 세 명의 작가를 선정해 개인전을 선보이는 기획이다. 올해로 3회를 맞은 《이마 픽스 2024》는 김민애, 백현진, 차재민을 미술관 전관에서 소개한다.

 

An artwork is a creation of the artist, yet it is also something delivered to the artist through the experience of an era. Artworks and exhibitions are not only aesthetic achievements of individual artists but also windows into the collective consciousness of a particular community or collective of the era. ‘IMA Picks’ is a curated initiative by the Ilmin Museum of Art that showcases solo exhibitions of three artists under this premise. IMA Picks 2024, the third edition of the series, presents Kim Minae, Bek Hyunjin, and Cha Jeamin across the entire museum.
