12월 6일 개관한 유동룡 미술관 1층 ‘먹의 공간’의 책 선반과 테이블, 벤치를 디자인, 제작했습니다.

제주도에 자리한 유동룡미술관은 유동룡의 딸 유이화가 설계하고 건축한 ‘이타미 준 세계의 완성체’입니다. 연면적 700㎡, 지상 2층 규모의 공간에 1970년부터 2011년까지 유동룡이 남긴 건축 작품과 회화·서예·조각 등의 예술 작품을 전시하고, 그의 수집품과 저서도 소개합니다. 또한 본질에 집중하고 고유한 방식으로 자신만의 세계를 구축하고 있는 젊은 창작자들과 교류합니다.

유동룡은 두 세계의 경계에 선 자신의 오리지널리티를 ‘먹의 공간’으로 표현했습니다. 동명의 ‘먹의 공간’은 유동룡의 저서와 작품집을 모아 놓은 아카이브와 그에게 받은 영감을 사유하는 공간입니다. 그 상징적 의미처럼 이곳에서 각자의 오리지널리티를 생각하는 여유를 가질 수 있습니다.

We designed and created the bookshelves, table, and benches in the 'Hermitage of Ink' on the first floor of the Yoo Dong-ryong Museum, which opened on December 6th.

The Yoo Dong-ryong Museum, located in Jeju, is the 'complete embodiment of Itami Jun’s world,' designed and built by Yoo Dong-ryong's daughter, Yoo I-hwa. The museum spans a total floor area of 700㎡ across two stories, exhibiting architectural works by Yoo Dong-ryong from 1970 to 2011, along with his art collection, including paintings, calligraphy, and sculptures. It also showcases his collections and writings. Furthermore, the museum fosters exchanges with young creators who focus on the essence and build their own unique worlds in distinctive ways.

Yoo Dong-ryong expressed his originality, standing at the boundary between two worlds, through the 'Hermitage of Ink.' The space, named the same, serves as an archive of Yoo Dong-ryong's books and collected works and is a place to reflect on the inspirations he received. Just like its symbolic meaning, this space provides an opportunity to contemplate one's own originality.
